Wikipedia

"I was at home, babysitting my siblings." Recalls Priscilla Lord, daughter of Judge Miles Lord. "A man called on the phone. He told me to tell  my father if he didn't stop hunting a certain criminal, he would kill him and his family. I was really scared. When my parents got home, I told them about the message."
In his childhood, Judge Miles Lord was extremely poor. He grew up in a mining town on the Iron Range. Here he got the impression that the mining companies didn't care about the regular people. When he graduated from college, he knew that he wanted to help the average citizens. After college, he joined the DFL (Democratic Farmer Labor) and became a politician. Miles Lord served as a state attorney general and as a U.S. attorney through the 1950's and the 1960's. He would go to any ends to stop the criminals. More than once, he and his family were threatened because of his dedication to justice. Miles Lord was appointed as a federal judge by Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966.
"He will be a people's judge." - Hubert Humphrey
